This is an example of the
large weathervane.

The size is about 36" from
outside of the cardinal point letters and the motif can be
up to about 15" high. The fox in the example is 15" nose to
tail. It differs from the standard model in that there are
four interlocked scrolls on the main shaft and two scrolls
on the direction arrow as well as being much larger overall.
As with all of the weathervanes it can be supplied flat just
needing the cardinal letter bars to be locked in place and
the scrolls secured to the main shaft before erecting.
Below is another large weathervane,
in this instance of a Case 435 Tractor in a slightly
different style. It has no scrolls on the direction arrow
and the motif is set to the end of the direction arrow so as
to turn more easily in the wind. It is also painted in two
colours to show the shape better.
